Our athletes had another opportunity to speak with a former NBA basketball player this past week. Ronny Turiaf was a great player who excelled in college for the Gonzaga Bulldogs and played for a couple of teams in the NBA; but won a championship with the Miami Heat in 2012. All of our young hoopers loved getting to ask questions about his process of reaching his basketball dreams. Many kids wanted to know about his work ethic and his willingness to sacrifice certain things to commit to the game of basketball. Family is a huge priority for Turiaf, as well as travel, and so he talked a bit about making those things the priority in his life after his time in the league…He made the decision to retire so that he could spend time with his family and travel around the world. Ronny was so great with the kids and their questions. He really made everyone feel like they were close friends of his. It was a special moment for the NBA School here in Dubai and a memory these kids will not soon forget!
